Lead-safety Message: “Resilience training is a technique that helps you adapt when experiencing difficult situations. You may learn new behaviors, thoughts and actions to get you through challenges, adversity or trauma.” Every organisation and individual on the planet needs resilience training to adapt to climate change and an aging highly-leaded population born in to the century of leaded petrol on earth: 1921-2021.

Lead-safety Message: Unleaded children and deleaded children and adults are our hope for a Lead-Safe and Climate-Safe future. Warmer seas must be cooled so jellyfish overpopulation is averted. Smarter adults of the future will have to solve many such problems.

Lead-safety Message: UNICEF’s Partnership for a Lead Free Future (PLF) has a vision to create global lead-safety ASAP because as Drew McCartor of Pure Earth puts it: “Lead poisoning causes more deaths annually than all natural disasters, active wars, traffic accidents, HIV, and malaria combined.”

Lead-safety Message: Both the pectin in regular citrus zest and in modified citrus pectin (MCP) can bind to lead inside your digestive tract and help push it out through your stool. Because regular pectin stays in the gut, it cannot reach lead stored in your tissues and organs, whereas MCP has been shown to enter the bloodstream to detox lead without removing essential minerals.

Lead-safety Message: Natural pectin in pears acts locally in your intestines. It binds to lead and other toxins in your food or digestive tract, preventing your body from absorbing them and helping you pass them out through your stool.

Lead-safety Message: Lucerne in Switzerland is an afternoon’s walk from the village of Malters where Hug AG produced the EDTA biscuits that were eaten by Moroccan pre-schoolers and school-aged children in the study by Bouhouch et al, apparently bringing down their blood lead levels and raising their iron status. Why aren’t EDTA biscuits available globally?

Lead-safety Message: Any time you work hard or exercise, there’s an opportunity for lead to leave the body via perspiration. Victory over lead is a long walk for us septuagenarians.

Lead-safety Message: When children are too young or hurried to take their shoes off at the door or if you have pets that come inside or contractors at your home, it’s a really good idea to have a Homezy Clean Step microfibre machine-washable mat on the floor inside the back door and you can even lay it there wet from the washing machine. Hose-able mats are good on the outside too.

Lead-safety Message: I’ve followed the Persian culinary tradition of using huge bunches of herbs and other greens fresh from the market to make daily salads, yoghurt dip, hummus and garlic dip my entire adult life. Perhaps the leafy greens, herbs, chick peas, sesame seeds, olive oil and all that garlic has helped drag lead out of my bones.
